A Rooted Home is Growing in Batavia!
Our little shop on the corner is growing! I’m excited to share that A Rooted Home is expanding into a new space at 237 W. Wilson Street in Batavia, IL. We’ll be the new shop around the corner—and yes, that’s a You’ve Got Mail reference I couldn’t resist, it’s the fall air!
Many of you have asked in the shop what comes after the Boardwalk Season. Your encouragement and kindness have meant the world to us. It’s been such a joy to share our cozy shop with you.
While our Boardwalk space has served us beautifully, it was always meant to be a first step. This new space will give us the room to expand our curated collections, host gatherings and create another cozy, soulful shopping experience for you.
This next step is one we’ve hoped for, prayed about, and carefully considered. For as creative-minded as I can be, I’m also someone who values research, outcomes, and thoughtful planning. Yet time and again, I’ve learned that no matter how much we prepare, sometimes we’re called to take a leap of faith—to trust in God, in ourselves, and in the gentle cadence of His timing.
Growing Slow, Staying Rooted
While it may look like it’s all happening quickly, in reality, we have always been about growing slow. For nearly ten years I have nurtured A Rooted Home in one form or another. Some seasons were quieter—hidden in the margins of everyday life—while others, like this one, have been full of visible growth. We’ve had a good season bringing this physical space to life and I want to keep this joyful momentum going in this next season.
I couldn’t do this without my family which is why I speak often as we instead of me. Their unwavering support makes every leap feel possible. I do understand this process will continue to stretch us and take us out of our comfort zones. In full transparency, the older I get, the scarier that can be, but it can also be a beautiful reminder that our dreams don’t expire with age. In fact, I would dare to suggest that the only become more clear.
As the beloved Maggie Smith writes in Good Bones, “life is short… you can make this place beautiful.” That’s our hope and we hope you’ll join us in filling our homes and our community with more light, goodness, beauty, hope, joy, love, and peace.
Rooted in the Fox Valley
If it sounds like the shop is personal, it is. Our family has called the Fox Valley area home for over twenty-five years and we’re excited to deepen our roots as we continue to invest in this beautiful community. We’d love for you to join us and keep chasing joy in this next chapter—because A Rooted Home wouldn’t be possible without you.💛
If you haven’t already, I invite you to join our list to be the first to know all about the new space including opening details, exclusive discounts, events and more! In the meantime, please continue to visit us at our shop at the Batavia Boardwalk. The holiday season is quickly approaching and we have some exciting things planned and so much goodness for gifting! See you soon, friends! I
